At V-FORCE, we love rallying! We were delighted to have a superb spot in the Castle Combe paddock for our static display at this years’ Rallyday, one of the most significant UK rally events on the motorsport calendar. We were nestled in amongst a sea of static and driving displays from numerous wonderful rally cars from across the generations, along with a number of other special cars.
Featuring hundreds of rally display cars on show with non-stop rally car action on the track and rally field. Plus a HUGE trade village, rally feature stage, special guests and star interviews and much much more…
Europe’s biggest one-day festival of rallying once again brought with it plenty of star cars and drivers from throughout the history of this much-loved motorsport, as well as an abundance of action both on and off the race track.
Guests on the day included the likes of Jimmy McRae, Nicky Grist and Gwyndaf Evans, who have driven a variety of cars throughout their careers. The Legend Stage was back providing a showcase of old and new rallying metal on the special-stage rally track that spans both the circuit and part of the paddock area.
Rallying is at the core of the advanced and tactical driving skills that we teach here at V-FORCE, and for very good reason. A competent rally driver can drive any drive train configuration on any surface type in any vehicle, and process vast quantities of auditory, visual and kinaesthetic information under pressure, the perfect blend of attributes required to drive extremely well under the high stress of a tactical situation.
Whether you’re extracting near enough the maximum performance from a vehicle under the pressure of evading a high-threat situation or closing rapidly to extract a wounded teammate stranded in a hostile environment, mastering the fundamentals of rally driving gives you an excellent foundation for developing great car control whilst retaining the capacity to think through a number of other complexities.
Our Chief Rally and Advanced Driving Instructor, the extremely popular Welsh pro-rally ace, Cameron Davies, is renowned for his supreme car control which enabled him to become the youngest ever junior British Rally Champion and youngest ever rally driver to be give a professional drive. Cam was fortunate to be recognised as an incredible driver and was sponsored by RallyDay back in 2016. Cam heads up our team of first-class advanced and tactical driving instructors ensuring that his outstanding skill-set is translated into excellent driving training for our customers.
High levels of demand have led to V-FORCE offering several rally-based experience days in addition to our high-intensity tactical driving events. Whether you’re power sliding our BMWs around our huge gravel skidpan and “stage” or perfecting left foot braking in our Subaru Impreza’s, anyone can join us for a day of high-octane driving fun in its purest sense.
